Our Impact

Family Promise of Barry County allows communities to develop comprehensive, holistic solutions for families facing homelessness. Families come to us in crisis; our approach of coordinated compassion helps them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support as they move to self-sufficiency.

CHANGING LIVES

Since April 2019, 37 people have been sheltered by FPBC.  18 adults and 19 children's lives have been impacted by our holistic case management, delicious meals, and hospitality of our Host Churches.

KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER

We believe families should stay together — not be separated — during the most difficult times in their lives.  Our Host Churches allow that to happen by turning their Sunday School classrooms into a bedroom for the family to stay together.

ACHIEVING SUCCESS

Nationwide, more than 88% of families in our shelter program secure housing because of our intensive case management and community support.

ENGAGING VOLUNTEERS

Collectively across all the Family Promise Affiliates, we mobilize more than 200,000 dedicated volunteers who make a tremendous difference in families’ lives—and in their communities.

At FPBC, each week our churches host, their volunteers provide 108 hours of service to our families! As they host four times a year, each Host Church is giving 432 hours of community service to Barry County residents!

WORKING SMART

For every dollar invested, we return $3 in donated goods and services.

CONNECTING COMMUNITY

Our volunteers don’t stop at shelter, meals, and support services. Nationwide, we have created more than 1,700 programs for housing, homelessness prevention, health care, life skills, and mentoring, among others.

At FPBC, we pride ourselves on working closely with other community agencies to provide holistic and lasting care for our families. We want them to graduate into their own housing knowing of all the community organizations that are there to support them.
